Buying gold in World of Warcraft isn't exactly, well, legal. Selling gold is a bit more illegal though, so hopefully this is okay to post ;) Many people enjoy "cheating" their way into earning things faster. I'm sure it has to give them a false sense of triumph over something, but is it really worth it? There are so many risks, after all. It's like buying tickets from scalpers, which isn't illegal it itself. But scalpers aren't the most trustworthy people....
There are good ways and bad ways to transfer gold in World of Warcraft from a seller. You always want to be careful with using the mail system, because it is the most common way that gold sellers transfer gold and is closely monitored. The best way is generally by meeting up with a representative from the company in the game and doing an actual trade.
